The USMBOK™

Introduction

The Guide to the USMBOK provides a universally applicable set of concepts to use when designing a service management system and service organization. The Guide codifies and connects the numerous elements of a service management system, service organization and operational elements and enables the leveraging and exploitation of many disparate information sources, standards, and industry frameworks.

The USMBOK defines service management as a systematic method for managing the provision of services to customers at a known quality and cost, focusing on the customer’s desired results and satisfaction, and in doing so details the elements of a service management system.

The USMBOK is the recommended study material for the Service Management Qualification Scheme (SMQS), and Certified Service Management Professional, Certified Lean Service Professional, and Certified Sustainable Operations Professional credentials, available from the Service Management Society .
